Sri Gattu Venugopalacharya's idea of building a permanent symbol for the Bhagavad Gita, a repository of knowledge bestowed by Lord Krishna, was erected on the premises of the Sri Krishna Temple in Bentonville, USA as World’s First Gita Sthoopa.
The Gita Stupa is a combination of nine stupas built in a circular pattern in the form of lotus petals in a lotus flower.
Gita Sthoopa is made up of small walls, each with two sides. These walls are plastered with bronze plates with verses in English and Sanskrit from each chapter including their meaning. Thus 700 verses of 18 chapters on 18 petals were written on Gita Sthoopa. A special attraction of the Gita Stupa is the appearance of Lord Krishna on a high pedestal in the middle of the nine round stupas.
Also, if you scan the QR code set up on the front of the Sthoopa with your phone, a sloka number will appear on the phone. Then go inside and search for the verse and its meaning and understand it as the message of Sri Krishna given to you at that time. It is build in such a way that it is available round the clock for anybody to visit and get their message.
